Toronto Jail Employment Skills Program
Funded by the Ministry of the Attorney General and administered by the African Canadian Legal Clinic, the ACLC facilitates a Job Skills Employment Program in Toronto’s Don Jail. The program assists participants in some of the following critical areas for securing meaningful employment and ensuring successful reintegration back into society:
- Changing thoughts and behaviours for success
- Preparing a resume
- Preparing for job interviews
- Addressing a criminal record
Moreover, the Job Skills Workshop has been designed to explain to participants the importance of understanding and considering that IT IS NEVER TO LATE TO MAKE A POSITIVE CHANGE. In this, the African Canadian Legal Clinic Job Skills Workshop also aspires to reduce recidivism by providing inmates with job skills and resources aimed at successful re-integration back into the community.
