How the ACLC Can Help You

The ACLC is a speciality clinic serving African Canadians in Ontario, offering specific racially and culturally sensitive legal services, aimed at eliminating anti-Black racism. Services include:

  • test case litigation - litigating cases which, because of their particular facts and legal issues, could have a wide-ranging impact on African Canadians
  • summary advice - providing short-term legal advice to help identify an issue and the appropriate legal resources available to deal with it
  • brief services - providing legal briefs or advocacy on legal matters
  • information and referrals.
  • law reform - advocating for changes to laws or responding to proposed legislation
  • community development - organizing and engaging community members
  • legal education - participating in speaking engagements and presentations to educational institutions, schools, community agencies, and professional organizations
