The African Canadian Legal Clinic operates within a framework of accountability arising from the public statutes that govern it, including the Legal Aid Services Act, 1998, the Not For Profit Corporations Act, 2010 and the Ontario Human Rights Code, provincial policies and its own policies and bylaws.  In particular, the ACLC is accountable to agencies or organizations from which it receives funding, including Legal Aid Ontario and the Ministry of the Attorney General, and to its members and the broader African Canadian community.
